Give Now – Support our work in the community through online giving
UPDATE 4th November 2020
As of Thursday 5th November St John’s will be closed. Further details will be made available soon.
FROM THE VICAR
I know that many of us are really not looking forward to the next four weeks. As a parish we will, as you might expect, be adapting our services to “lockdown” once again – and there will be more on that in the next day or two.
However, in the meantime, the Archbishops have called the Church of England to make this four week period a month of prayer. I therefore attach a seasonal parish prayer resource for our use as we pray separately in our homes.
It has been compiled by a Vicar in another Diocese and made freely available to everyone to adapt – which I have done today. I hope that you will each find something of use from the various options available. In respect of some of the variations in the liturgy, you may wish to know that Advent begins on Sunday 29th November.
Going forward, do contact me, the churchwardens and ministry team members, or the parish office at any time should you need to.
With my prayers and blessings,

Sunday Service Videos
During this second lockdown, our Sunday services will be pre-recorded in the church, and available online by 10am each Sunday morning.
From 8 August, face covering are required by law to be worn in a greater number of public indoor settings including places of worship, museums, galleries, cinemas and public libraries.
There are valid exemptions for some individuals and groups not to wear a face covering. However, this exemption does not apply to worshippers, who should wear face coverings consistent with the requirements for any other public space.
Can we pray for you?
There are occasions when each one of us feels a need for the support of prayer, personally. And during these difficult and taxing times, there may be any number of additional reasons why any of us might want someone to pray with or for us.
St John’s will always offer the opportunity to request personal prayer, but perhaps not everyone is aware of this? There is no need to explain why you need the prayer (unless you choose) – just ask. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone either 01932 343128 (Hazel Craig) or 01932 851830 (Geoff Jones) and they will make sure that your request is made known to the Ministry Team. Be assured that you, or those you are seeking prayer for, will be prayed for. The same goes for other needs you may have – please get in touch if you need help and we will see what can be done.
