The Vicar is available to take funerals at St John’s Church. He is also willing to take funeral services at Woking or Leatherhead crematorium for people who have lived in the Parish.

There is no burial ground at St. John’s, and burials take place at St. Mary’s, Byfleet. There is a Memorial Garden for the internment of cremated remains.

For general questions about funerals in the St John’s church building, you are welcome to contact the parish administrator but, prior to that, in the first instance families usually need to appoint a funeral director who will approach us to make arrangements. Feel free to contact the Parish Office (Tuesday & Thursday Afternoons)  (01932 342 263). Email

There are standard fees set by the Church of England and Parochial Church Council for funerals. These are normally paid through the funeral director. The organist will usually play at these services, for which an additional fee is payable.

More information can be found on the Church of England’s web site.

The St John’s premises are also available for bookings for funeral gatherings.
